Michelle
Bagby

founder & Instructor
Michelle Bagby was a cheerleader throughout Junior High,
High School, and was a dancer for the UNCC Gold Dusters
Dance Team. She graduated from UNCC with a Bachelor of
Science in Business with a minor in philosophy and went on
to perform as a professional NBA cheerleader for the
Charlotte Hornets for five consecutive years. In fact, she
was one of the first ever professional cheerleaders in
Charlotte as an Original Honeybee. During her years as an
NBA cheerleader she was also featured in numerous print
ads, magazines, TV commercials (both regional and national)
- Carowinds, Belk, Kohls, Harris Teeter, Time Life, Tide,
etc. and even worked as a production assistant in the movie
“Eddie” starring Whoopie Goldberg. She also landed a role
as one of the New York Knicks dancers in the movie. She has
choreogrpahed for minor league professional dance
teams/cheerleading squads, and has choreographed
innumerable first place routines for cheerleading squads
and dance teams on a regional and national level. As a
judge, she has been on the panel for grade school
cheerleading, NFL cheerleading, and regional and national
pageants. In 1996 she founded and registered a legal and
national service mark for the CHEERDANCE program and is
working to improve it more and more each day in hopes of
providing franchise opportunities in the very near future.
Matthew
Romero
Break Dance &
Tumbling/Acrobatics Instructor
Matt Romero a
native of Santa Fe, New Mexico moved to Charlotte, NC after
earning a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from New
Mexico State University. At the age of fifteen he began
Break Dancing, and working on different types of acrobatics
and gymnastics. He later broadened his talents and joined
the New Mexico State Ballroom DanceSport Team. Here he was
involved in many Ballroom dance exhibitions and
competition. He later became a professional Ballroom
instructor where he went to compete professionally in many
American Style Ballroom Dance competitions. Matt has also
begun to incorporate all his skills learned over the years
into the art of Freerunning/parkour where he has trained
with some of the Worlds best freerunners (Team Tempest out
of Los Angeles CA). Currently, Matt’s goal is to help
influence and make way for the next group of Break Dancers,
Tumblers, Acrobats, Freerunners and “Greats” so that they
may inspire the youth of their generation.
Anique
Oliver
Hip Hop/Cheerdance
Instructor
Anique
Oliver was born in New York, NY and has danced for over 20
years. She studied dance at the world renowned Alvin Ailey
American Dance Center for 10 years. Recognized as an
outstanding student, Anique was chosen to perform at many
Ailey Company gala events at venues such as Lincoln and
City Centers in New York City. She has studied Ballet,
Modern, jazz, tap, Dunham, African and Flamenco. While
earning her degree in Communications and Theatre Arts at
Howard University, she became a member of the Washington
Wizards dance team. After earning her degree, Anique moved
to Los Angeles, CA where she signed with the premier dance
agency, Bloc. She as worked closely with such
choreographers as Fatima Robinson, Lauri Ann Gibson, and
Brian Friedman just to name a few. She has also danced in
music videos for P. Diddy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mary J.
Blidge, and many other premier recording artists. Her live
performances include but are not limited to, the MTV Video
Music Awards, ABC Fashion Rocks, and ABC’s American Music
Awards along side artists such as Fergie, Joss Stone and
Stevie Wonder. Anique also danced for Grammy nominated
artist Jamie Foxx’s nationwide “Unpredictable” tour.
Aniques students have gone on to win national competitions
such as Reach the Beach and COA Cheer and Dance. Some have
even gone on to semi-professional dance companies and
College Dance Teams. Anique continues to work with only the
BEST that the dance world and music business have to offer
and enjoys bringing that knowledge and experience to her
workshops and students.
Roselyn
Langley
Vocal Coach/Private
Voice Instructor
Roselyn holds both a master of music in voice and vocal
performance degrees from Converse College, with post
graduate studies at the Akademie Der Musik in Vienna,
Austria. Roselyn also has extensive experience in teaching
voice at both the collegiate and professional levels,
including a master class in St Petersburg, Russia. She
began the Opera workshop while on the faculty of UNC
Charlotte, and is the founder and artistic director of the
Wandering Minstrels. The Wandering Minstrels are a group of
classically trained musicians that perform throughout the
region at various events including the famous Biltmore
Estate in Ashville, NC. They have also performed an evening
of opera in Charleston, SC, and were chosen as the
performers for the gala celebration to honor
philanthropists Hermann and Anita Blumenthal. (The
Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is Named in their honor)
They have also appeared in several TV commercials. Roselyn
serves on the board of The Friends of Music, Salem College,
Winston Salem, NC and the American Singers Opera Project,
formerly of New York, now headquartered in North Carolina.
Currently she is also studying and is coached by the
Italian dramatic soprano Barbara Caprilli, formerly of
Italy, now residing in North Carolina.
Carrie Ann
Hunt
Drama/Theatre
Instructor & Commercial Acting Coach
Carrie Hunt has studied at The Actors Lab, the Film Actor’s
Studio, Royal Shakespeaare Company, and the Governor’s
School of the Arts. Her awards include Best Actress/Drama
for Cordelia in King Lear at the Creative Loafing Charlotte
Theatre Awards, as well as Best Actress/Comedy for Miranda
in The Tempest. In film she landed the lead role of Sophy
Hopkey in “Wesly” produced by John Jackman of Foudery
Pictures, a supporting role as Julie Welch in The Four
Children of Tander Welch produced by Ashlon Langley of
Sligh Pictures, as well as a Day player contract as the
‘girlfriend’ in “Nights in Rodanthe” produced by George C
Wolfe of Warner Brothers Pictures/DiNovi Productions. She
also was a Soap Opera Actress in “The Unlikelys” produced
by Nick Miller of NGM Entertainment, and landed leading
roles as Niki in “Forgotten” and Beth in “Move Cary”. Her
theatre experience includes the role of Kwan Yin in Goddess
and the Magdalene, Cordelia in King Lear, Mrianda in The
Tmpest, Beth in A Lie of the Mind, and Olivia in the
Twelfth Night. She has taught modeling classes, and has
also done workshops in commercial acting and
improvisations.
